Ruth I. (Buffum) Pasquarelli Kathan
Ruth I. (Buffum) Pasquarelli Kathan, 82 of Hinsdale and formerly of Winchester died on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Applewood Care Center in Winchester. She passed peacefully after ashort period of declining health with family at her side.
Ruth was born the daughter of the late Sylvia (Russell) and James O.T. Buffum on May 4, 1933 inSwanzey. She was educated locally and attendedSwanzey schools.
She was formerly married to John E. Pasquarelli, who passed away in 1970. In 1979 she exchanged vows with Earl Kathan. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. Sadly,Earl passed in 1987 after eitght years of marriage.
Ruth lived a simple life, living in Swanzey and Winchester. Sheworked for many years at Princess Shoe factory. For fun she liked to go fishing and visit the beach at Hampton. She raised rabbits,loved bird watching and working in the woods logging with Earl and their team of draft horses Josh and Jake.
Mrs. Kathan is survived by her children; James E. Pasquarelli and his wife Anne-Marie Pasquarelli of Ashuelot, JohnE. Pasquarelli and his wife Regina of Swanzey and Nick McLaughlin of Kansas.Her siblings; Jessie Young and her husband Douglas of Hopkinsville KY. Beverly Wilbur, survived by Morris of Westport, Frank Buffum and his wife Judy of Swanzey and Judy James and her husband Steven ofWinchester. Six grandchildren; Patty, Tony, Amanda, Renea, Jenna and Andrea and 8 Great Grandchildren. In addition she leaves; cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ruth is pre-deceased by her siblings; Freddie Buffum and Flora (Buffum) Desrosier.
In keeping with Ruths wishes there are no formal services or calling hours. A graveside service is being planned for the spring in the family lot at Ever Greencemetery in Winchester.
