Rose M. (Wheeler) Budzik Rhoades, 87, of Gilsum and a former long-time resident of Winchester died on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. She passed peacefully with the love of her large family at her side.
Rose was born the daughter of the late Ethyl (Joslyn) and Clinton Wheeler on January 26, 1928 in Chesterfield. She was educated in Brattleboro, VT.
She exchanged vows with Alexander Budzik in 1968. Sadly, he passed on September 22, 2009 after forty-one years of marriage. Rose was fortunate enough to find love again and she married Donald Rhoades. Sadly, he passed eight months later.
Rose worked at MPB in Keene for twenty-eight years as a machine operator before retiring in 1994. She was also a long-time employee of Multi-Med in Keene for thirteen years in a similar position.
Rose had many interests in life. She enjoyed Knitting, Cross stitch, shopping and cooking. Much of her time was spent with her dog (Iza). Rose had to have her hair just so. So on every Saturday she could be found at the hairdressers. Her passion in life was for her family. She loved to attend family events and was always up for cooking something.
Mrs. Rhoades is survived by her children: Joanne M. Muzzey and her husband Dwayne of Walpole, Ruben D. Hardy of Bellows Falls, VT. Alice Bennett of Meriden, CT. Richard A. Dunham and his wife Katherine of Lovell, ME. Daniel Dunham of Winchester and Marion A. Wilber and her husband Donald of Gilsum. Her siblings; Ethyl Wood of Keene, Grace Fish of Fla. Milton Wheeler and his wife Elizabeth of VT. In addition she leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In keeping with Rose’s wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10am. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Rd. Winchester, NH. 03470. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
