Robert “Rob” Leustek

Robert “Rob” Leustek, 46 of Winchester and formerly of Gladstone, N.J. died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Robert was born the son of the late Ana Theodora (Metzler) and Boris Leustek on August 30, 1970 in Elizabeth, N.J. He graduated from Roselle Park High School class of 1988. Rob also received certificates in Black Seal Boiler Maintenance, Very Small Water Systems and obtained his CDL Licence in 2012

On November 12, 1996 he exchanged vows with Gloria D. Hegyes in Hollywood Florida and renewed their vows in 1998 at Zion Lutheran Church in Rahway NJ. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been married for almost 21 years.

Rob was employed by Wiggin Hydroseed Landscaping in Northfield, MA.. He also worked at Bob’s Fuel in Winchester as a delivery man and driver in the winter. Previously he had worked at the Sisters of St. John the Baptist in Gladstone, N.J. as a property manager for twenty-five years. He was also a farmer and beekeeper who owned and operated Porcupine Acres LLC. with his wife in Winchester.

He had many interests and accomplishments in life. Time was spent as a Selectman for the Town of Winchester. He was an alternate on the Planning Board for the Town of Winchester. In addition, he also spent time on the Revitalization and Economic Development Committee (RED). Rob worked diligently with others in the Winchester community to establish and form the Winchester Centennial Lions Club. He was known to help at the local farmers market but his passion was being the Town Clock Custodian and working to restore the town clock. This project emulated Rob’s willingness to protect some of Winchester’s history by restoring the clock to its original working condition. He was a man who loved his community. Life wasn’t all business for Rob. He gave freely of his time to participate on the planning committee for the Winchester NH Pickle Festival. Mr. Leustek is survived by his wife Gloria D. Leustek of Winchester. His Siblings; Ingrid Brandao of Newton, N.J., Margret Yousef Roselle Park, N.J., Thomas Leustek of Rahway, N.J. and Rudolph Leustek of Brick, N.J. in addition he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 4 to 7pm. A celebration of life service will occur on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10am. all in the funeral chapel.
