Robert L. Goodell Sr. 86 os Swanzey, died on April 22, 2010 at Applewood Nursing home in Winchester after a period of failing health.

He was born the son of Agnes (Lane) and Maurice L. Goodell on June 10, 1923 in Marlborough.

He took his vows to Pauline A. (Fish) Goodell on October 26, 1946. They had been married for 46 loving years before she passed.

As a young man Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served his country during World War II as an auto mechanic. Being one of the greatest generation he served with honor in Northern France, Rhineland, (Germany) and Central Europe. He was discharged at the rank of Tech Sargent with an Honorable Discharge Medal.

Robert worked as a foreman for the C.L. Lane Company making sap buckets and furniture before retiring in 1986.

Mr. Goodell is survived by his seven children: Robert E. Goodell and his wife Lorraine of West Swanzey, Linda Adams and her husband Douglas Adams Sr of Keene, Robert L. Goodell Jr and his wife Lisa of Tennessee, Beverly Ferris and her husband Stan of Winchester, Larry Goodell and his wife Debbie of East Swanzey, Suzanne Crocker of Florida., Heidi Rannigan of Nelson. He is also survived by his Grand children; Lynn Weaver, Denise Stevens, Bobbi-Jo Osborne, Douglas Adams Jr., Wayne Adams, Matthew Adams, Emily Adams, Jaimie Adams, Naketa Adams, Bobby Goodell, Vikki Chauvin, Diana Cooke, Shellie Cavoliar, Larry Goodell Jr., Jason White, Erik White, Jimmy Crocker, Billy Crocker, Emily Rangan, Kevin Ranagan, Mathew Goodell and Shawn Goodell. His great grandchildren will miss his presence Courtney DeFranzo, Anthony DeFranzo, Devin Osborne, Haleigh Lord, Zakry Osborne, Cameron Osborne, Katelyn Osborne, Lilly Adams, Seth Adams, Nora Adams, Zackrey Goodell, Kaylee Goodell, Sammi Moriantmath, Ricky Dobleshawn, Nolan Goodell, Malcolm Goodell, Lilly Goodell, Deanna Cavoliar, Tressa Cavoliar, Melana Cavoliar, Gage Goodell, Becca Goodell, Garet Goodell, Katelynn Cooke, Shannon Cooke, Benjamen Cooke, Christian Cooke, Jacklin White and Taylor White. He is also survived by one sibling; Virginia Jennes of Florida. He will be missed by his large expended family and friends.

Burial will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11am. in the family lot with full military honors at Mountain View Cemetery, Rt. 32 S. Swanzey. Donations may be made in memory of Robert L. Goodell Sr. to the Monadnock Humane Society 101 West Swanzey Rd. Swanzey, NH. 02446.
