Richard “Dicka” C Malloy

Richard “Dicka” C Malloy, of Keene died on November 30, 2016 at his home, after a brief illness. He was 82 years old.

He was born on February 12, 1934, son of Richard K. and Geneva (Gorman) Malloy, and resided in Keene all his life. He was a graduate of Keene High School, attended The University of New Hampshire, and served in the United States Army for four years stationed in Germany. After fulfilling his military obligation, he went on to graduate from the New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston, MA.

On June 29, 1957, he married Margaret C. Byrne of Winchester, NH. They were married for 52 years, until her passing in 2010. Together they owned and operated Malloy Funeral Home in Keene, O’Connor Funeral Homes in Winchester and Hinsdale, NH and Hall & Croteau Funeral Home in Marlboro, NH.

He was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Keene, and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He was also a longtime member of the Keene Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing with family and friends. He had a passion for all New England sports teams, and was friend to all animals his entire life. He loved traveling and made numerous trips to Ireland.

Mr. Malloy is survived by his close friend and companion, Jean Girard of Keene. He also leaves four children; Mathew J. Malloy and his wife Debra of West Lebanon, John P. Malloy and his wife Kathleen of Keene, Molly Malloy Turmelle and her husband Michael of Stratham and Jane Malloy Richardson and her husband Mark of Arlington, VT. Their “Bumpa” will be missed by his seven granddaughters, Caitlin Malloy of Portland, ME, Shannon Malloy of Hartford, CT, Erin Turmelle of Madison, WI, Lilly Turmelle of Burlington, VT, Sophie Turmelle of Dover, NH, Meghan Malloy of Keene, Ellen Malloy of Keene, and extended family and friends.

In keeping with Dick’s wishes there are no public calling. A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary’s / Parish of the Holy Spirit, 33 Arch St. Keene, NH. 03431 on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11am. Burial will follow with military honors in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Richard C. Malloy to: Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
