Richard (Dick) M. Cechvala Sr. 72 formerly of Deerfield and Hatfield MA. died on Tuesday, August 25 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland New after a period of decline. For the past 20 Mr. Cechvala has been a resident of Ashuelot.
Richard was born the son of Helen M. (Blyda) and Michael D. Cechvala on July 3, 1937 in Northampton, MA.
Mr. Cechvala was employed by the Hatfield Public Schools as a Teacher. Located in Hatfield, Massachusetts. He retired in 1982.
He leaves behind his 2 children; Debra A. Pratt and her husband Gary of Swanzey, NH. and a son Richard M. Cechvala Jr. of Easthampton, MA. His siblings; Dorothy Pyzer of Wilbraham, MA. Al C. Cechvala and his wife Nancy of Mt. Horeb, WI. Michael C. Cechvala and his wife Maxine Stein of South Hadley, MA. and David P. Cechvala also of South Hadley, MA.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, 12 September, at 10am. in The Village Church, Cobble Hill Rd., Swanzey, NH. 03469. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Richard M. Cechvala to; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
