Rhonda J. (Rockwell) Smith, 54, a long time resident of Swanzey and formerly of Marlborough died on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. She passed peacefully after a period of declining health with the love of her family near.
Rhonda was born the daughter of the late Barbara (Paige) and Bruce Rockwell Sr. on November 22, 1961 in Keene. She was educated locally and graduated from Marlborough High School class of 1979.
On January 2, 1983 she exchanged vows with Mark Smith. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. They had been married for thirty four years.
Rhonda was a stay at home mom and worked part time as a server for Nick’s restaurant in Swanzey for twelve years.
She enjoyed being social with family and friends. Rhonda was always there to give a hand for those in need or for family projects. She also liked to attend family gatherings.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Mark Smith Sr. of Swanzey. Her children: Mark Smith Jr. of Swanzey, Kristy Smith of Swanzey, Matthew Smith of Swanzey and Michael Smith and his fiancée Elisha Fish of Swanzey. She leaves her siblings; Bruce Rockwell Jr. and his fiancée Davida Carey of Swanzey and Missy Rockwell of Swanzey. A sister in-law, Terry Tan of Marlborough. Five grandchildren: Treigh Parrott, Dillon smith, Payton Smith, Tarrin Smith and Landon Smith all of Swanzey. In addition she leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In keeping with Rhonda’s wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11am. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherry St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
