Raymond A. Cheney, 67, a life-time resident of Swanzey died after a short period of failing health on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Keene Center Genesis in Keene with the love of family near.
Raymond was born the son of Pauline (Metcalf) and Arnell Cheney on July 8, 1950 in Keene. He was educated in Swanzey and graduated from Monadnock Regional High School class of 1968.
Ray was a self-employed flooring installation contractor for over forty years specializing in tile. He worked for various businesses throughout the Monadnock Region.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, music, wild life, old cars, Patriots football and spending 
time with family and friends.
Mr. Cheney is survived by his daughter, Brandy R. Salema and her husband Nelson of Keene. His mother, Pauline Cheney of Swanzey. Two siblings; Marjorie Sonquist of IL. and Roger Cheney Jr. and his wife Martha of Jaffrey. Three grandchildren; Damien, Olivia and Miranda Salema of Keene in addition he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, 
extended family and friends. Ray is pre-deceased by his father, Arnell Cheney who passed in 1982.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes there are no calling hours. A gathering to celebrate the life of Raymond Cheney will be held at a future time.
