Peter M. Boulay 63 of Swanzey died on May 20, 2010 in the familiar surroundings of his home with his family present.
He was born the son of Carol (Casillo) and Maurice Boulay on April 24, 1947 in Keene. As a child the Boulay family moved to Manchester where he was educated. Peter is a 1965 graduate of Manchester West High School.
After high school Peter worked a few jobs before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, stationed in Far East Asia as a Fire Control Operator. Peter was honorably discharged at the rank of Sargent in 1969.
On July 12, 1980 Mr. Boulay took his vows to then Miss. Judith S. Ball at the United Church of Christ in Keene. They would have celebrated their 30th. anniversary this year.
Mr. Boulay worked for the U.S. Postal Service for the past 25 years. He worked in various positions including being a postal clerk and mail handler. He has also been gainfully employed by Keene State College as an electrician. Peter worked for a while at the A. Martell Printing Company in Keene.
Peter liked to vacation at Hampton Beach. He was also a member of the Elks Club in Keene and a member of the West Swanzey Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a big sports enthusiast. He also loved to watch the birds and enjoy nature. He loved his dogs and cats especially Drefus his dog. Peter was a wonderful father and husband and a great provider.
Mr. Boulay is survived by his wife Judith S. Boulay of Swanzey. He is also survived by his 2 children; Erik and Shannon Boulay both at home in Swanzey. He leaves 3 siblings; Judith Campbell and her husband Glenn of North Conway, Diane Boulay of Swanzey and Joseph Boulay and his wife Melinda of Richmond. He is pre-deceased by his parents and his younger brother David Boulay who died on January 18, 2005. His presence will be missed by his extended family and numerous friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 6 to 8p.m. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10a.m. with a liturgy of the word all in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family lot with full military honors at Oak Hill Cemetery in West Swanzey. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Peter M. Boulay to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Rd. Swanzey, NH. 03469.
