Mary M. (Marcotte) Gline, 84, a life-long resident of Keene died on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. She passed peacefully while resting after a short period of declining health.

Mary was born the daughter of the late Lucille (Seaver) and Calvin Marcotte on August 26, 1934 in Newark, N.J. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School Class of 1952. She went on in her studies and graduated from Keene Teachers College Class of 1956 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

On June 16, 1956 she exchanged vows with Frank A. Gline Jr. at the First Congregational Church in Keene. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Frank passed on May 10, 2014 after almost fifty-eight years of marriage.

She was always a mom and educator. She worked as a teacher and paraprofessional with Chapter 1 in the Winchester and Keene School systems. She worked at Center Elementary School in Winchester, Franklin Elementary School and Fuller Elementary School in Keene. She retired in 1993 after twenty-four years of educating the youth of the communities.

Mary was a member of the United Church of Christ Church in Keene for over sixty years. She played in the church Handbell Choir for twenty-six years, served as a church school teacher and on the Music and Arts Committee as the Secretary, and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship. As a youth she participated in the Junior Choir and Youth Fellowship. She was also community oriented. She was a member of the Cheshire County Retired Educators Association, the Charitable Ladies Society in Keene, and the Ashuelot Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over fifty years. For fun Mary and Frank enjoyed traveling to Florida, visiting friends in Charlotte, N.C. and Myrtle Beach, S.C. as well as Canada, the Midwest, Prince Edward Island, and all over New England. She liked to read, knit, braid rugs, golf, take walks and aerobic exercise classes. Her passion in life was family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Gline is survived by her three children; Deborah G. Allen and her spouse, Danielle of Derry, Gregory C. Gline and his wife Ann Marie of Keene, and Nancy S. Gline and her life-long friend Michael Dhembe of Charlton, MA. In addition, she leaves six grandchildren; Suzanne Hoy and her husband Benny of Surry, Andrew Gline and his wife Danitza of Loveland, CO, Curtis G. Gline of Fort Collins, CO, Elizabeth R. Gline of Leadville, CO, Jeremiah Allen of Derry and Benjamin Allen of Derry. Her three great grandchildren; Reagan E. Hoy of Surry, Ella A. Hoy of Surry, and Olivia D. Gline of Loveland, CO. In addition, she leaves her close friend Mervyn C. Frink of Keene, cousins, extended family and numerous friends of many generations.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5 to 8pm. in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel,44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. A celebration of life service will occur on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11am. in the United Church of Christ Church, 23 Central Square, Keene, NH. 03431. Burial will be private.
