Mary E. (Temple) Kellom-Scarborough

Mary E. (Temple) Kellom-Scarborough 80 of Winchester died on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Applewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winchester. She passed peacefully while sleeping after a period of failing health.

Mary was born the daughter of Elizabeth (Smith) and Merlin Temple on October 20, 1931 in Torrington, Connecticut. As a child the family moved to the Brattleboro, Vermont area where she attended local schools. She graduated from Brattleboro Union High School class of 1950. Mary has been a local resident for fifty years.

Mrs. Scarborough worked on the production line for many years at the Plum Pak Company in Winchester. She retired in 2001 after many years of service.

Mrs. Kellom-Scarborough was married twice in her life. She took her vows to Mr. Donald Charles Kellom on June 29, 1952. They were married for twenty five years before he passed on June 2, 1977. She later married Bob Scarborough on July 18, 1981. Sadly he passed on March 9, 1986.

For fun Mary would attend events with the Sunrise Village Social Club. She also enjoyed making afghans and knitting. She was an avid bird watcher. Her scanner was always on. She liked the excitement. Life for Mary couldnt be better than when the grand children and great grand children were around.

Mrs. Kellom-Scarborough is survived by her three sons and their spouses; Keith H. Kellom and his wife Andrea of Brattleboro, VT., Mark S. Kellom of Winchester and Barry D. Kellom of Winchester. She is also survived by three step sons Robert Scarborough, George Scarborough and John Scarborough. She will be missed by her former daughter in-law, Karen Thompson. Her brothers; Merlin J. Temple and his wife Ester of Roxbury, CT., Alfred and his wife Rebecca of Huntsville, AL. and Walter and his wife of Jefferson, GA., seven grand children and twelve great grand children. She also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mary is pre deceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Merlin Temple. Her husbands; Charles Kellom and Bob Scarborough and her son, James Kellom who passed in 2004.

A grave side service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11am. in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester. There are no calling hours. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Mary Kellom-Scarborough to the Winchester Fire Department, C/O Town Hall, 1 Richmond Rd. Winchester, NH. 03470.
