Margaret May (Walker) Welch, 79, a long time resident of Winchester and formerly of Brattleboro, VT. went to her eternal home on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Thompson House in Brattleboro.

Margaret was born the daughter of the late Marilla (Dodge) and Harry Walker on July 18, 1936 in Medford, Oregon. She graduated from Sequim High School class of 1954.

On April 1, 1989 she exchanged vows with Michael E. Welch at the Church of Christ in Brattleboro. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been happily married for twenty seven years.

Margaret was very proud to be a stay at home mother raising her seven children and giving them a foundation of unconditional love and faith.

She was a woman of great faith and member of the Church of Christ in Brattleboro for many years. She loved flowers and watching the birds. Margaret was known for having a big hearted soul and was one who would give encouragement to others. She was always writing and sending out cards to family and friends and even strangers. She was a woman filled with grace and mercy who was quick to forgive.

Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband Michael E. Welch of Winchester. Her children; Kathy S. Worrall and her husband Matthew of Winchester, Steven L. Young and his wife Donna of Springfield, VT. Judy E. Barbour and her husband Stephen of W. Fairlee, VT. Karen K. Plaisted and her husband Ethan of Alstead, Dennis A. Young and his wife Teresa of Chesterfield and Dan S. Young of W. Brattleboro, VT. Her brothers; Walter Walker and Ray Walker. In addition she leaves fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Margaret’s daughter Shawn E. Young passed on August 17, 1960. She looked forward to be reunited with Shawn and now she is.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 6 to 8pm. A celebration of life service will occur on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1pm. all at Grace Christian Fellowship Church. 81 Ashuelot St. Winchester, NH. 03470. She would be pleased if people gave a random act of kindness to someone in need in her memory.
