Margaret (Byrne) Malloy, 77 of Keene died peacefully February 6, 2010 at home.

She was born in Winchester July 6, 1932, daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Griffin) Byrne and she resided in Winchester and Keene all of her life. She was a graduate of Thayer High School and Becker College in Worcester, Mass.

On June 29, 1957 she married Richard C. (Dick) Malloy at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Winchester. They were married for 52 years.

She worked for several years at the Keene Clinic as an administrative secretary, a time when there were only eight doctors on staff. She took several Library courses at Keene State College and became the school librarian at Franklin School, a position she held for ten years. In 1970 she joined her husband in business as Treasurer of Malloy Funeral Homes Inc.

She was a communicant of St. Bernard’s Church in Keene. Was a longtime member of the Keene Country Cub where she enjoyed golfing with family and friends. She enjoyed her gardens in the spring and summer and floral arrangements were a passion with her. She was a voracious reader and for over ten years enjoyed her association with “The Cards of Joy” in the Colony Mill Market Place here in Keene.

Mrs. Malloy is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) Malloy of Keene. She also leaves four children; Matthew J. Malloy and his wife Debra of West Lebanon, John P. Malloy and his wife Kathleen of Keene, Molly Malloy Turmelle and her husband Michael of Stratham and Jane Malloy Richardson and her husband Mark of Arlington, VT. She is pre-deceased by her siblings; John Byrne, Robert Byrne and Elizabeth Byrne Kingsman. She will be missed by her seven grand daughters; Caitlin Malloy of Portland, ME. Shannon Malloy of Brunswick, ME. Erin Turmelle of Washington D.C., Lilly Turmelle of Keene, Sophie Turmelle of Stratham, Meghan Malloy of Keene, Ellen Malloy of Keene and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Parish on Main St. in Keene on Tuesday at 2p.m. Burial will be private. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers monetary donations should be made in memory of Margaret B. Malloy to Hospice and Community Services, 312 Marlborough St., Keene, NH. 03431.
