Lucille A. (Loverro Decatur) DiranLucille A. (Loverro Decatur) Diran, 79, of Keene and formerly of Lunenburg and Fitzwilliam passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

She was born a daughter to the late Margaret (Cummings) and Dominic Loverro on May 24, 1944 in Athol, MA. Lucille was educated at Athol High School in Athol, MA. class of 1962. She continued her education at Johnson State University in Vermont earning her bachelor’s degree in Education.

On June 20, 2014, Lucille exchanged vows with her second husband Richard J. Diran. They were married for 6 years until he passed away in March of 2020.

Lucille enjoyed her time working for River Valley Credit Union for more than 10 years as their collections manager in Brattleboro, VT. until her retirement in 2013. Prior, she held various positions in banking at local financial institutions including Monadnock Bank, CFX Bank and TD Bank.

Lucille loved traveling, dancing, playing cards, entertaining in her home and being social with family and friends. She was a former Keene Lions Club member and prior longtime member of the Gap Mountain Lions Club. She held various positions within the Lions organization, some of which include, Vice District Governor from 2009-2010, and District

Governor from 2010-2011 of District 44 N and past Council Chair. She was acknowledged as Lion of the Year for her district 2006-2007, received a Granite State Fellow award and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship award among other various recognitions. Lucille enjoyed volunteering for the United Way and Relay for Life, and gave freely of her time for numerous charities and organizations.

Mrs. Diran is survived by her two children, Bradley H. Decatur of Swanzey, Sara A. (Decatur) Judge and her husband Ian of Sommerville, and sister, Peggy Shepardson of Athol, MA. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Isaac Judge and Marshall Decatur. Lucille is also survived by Jennifer Felt, someone she loved like a daughter, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Lucille was predeceased by her parents, her second husband Richard, her brother Michael Loverro who passed in 2000 and her sister Cindy Lonergan who passed in 2007.

In lieu of flowers her family is requesting donations be made in her honor to a charity of choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 12th from 12 to 3 pm at the Samuel E. Paul Community Center, 61 South St. Troy, NH 03465. A private burial will take place at a later date in the family lot at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon, MA. 01475.
