Linda L. (Fontaine) McMahon, 64, of Swanzey and formerly of Keene and Peterborough died on Thursday, September 24, 2015. She passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family near after a period of declining health.

Linda was born the daughter of the late Sandra (Hutchinson) and Edward Fontaine on July 13, 1951 in Peterborough. She was educated in Peterborough and graduated from ConVal High School class of 1972.

On May 19, 1973 she exchanged vows with Robert J. McMahon. They were married at the First Congregational Church in Peterborough with family and friends in attendance. The McMahons have been married for fourty two years.

Linda worked at Timken Precision Credit Union in Keene as a teller for twelve years. She retired in 2013 to enjoy time with her family. Prior, she had worked for Clark Dexter in Keene as a receptionist for several years.

She loved nothing more than to get out on her motorcycle traveling the open roads. She has ridden out to Sturgis, the mid-west, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Nova Scotia, Quebec Canada, Maine as well as riding in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Daytona Beach, FL. She liked spending time walking on the beaches. She enjoyed going on cruises to the Caribbean with her husband for vacations. Linda was a wonderful cook and her kitchen was her domain. She would spend time with family cooking up a storm for holidays and family events. Many of her afternoons and weekends revolved around the grandchildren’s school and sporting events and just being with her family. She could be found in the stands cheering them on and being supportive.

Mrs. McMahon is survived by her husband Robert J. McMahon of Swanzey. Her children; Missy J. Hodgman and her husband Glenn of Winchester and Jennifer L. Foster and her husband Shane of Swanzey. Her siblings; Peter Fontaine and his wife Linda of Peterborough, Michael Fontaine and his wife Christine of Washington, ME, JoAnn Cuchetti and her husband JC of Dennis, MA. and Pam LaChance and her significant other Dave Mohr of Keene. She also leaves her grandchildren; Ashley Lawrence, Breanna Bosquet, Nathan Bosquet, Madison Hodgman, Madison Foster and Collin Foster in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 4 to 7pm. A liturgy of the word will be given on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 10am. all in the funeral chapel. Burial will occur at 1pm. in the family lot at Mountain View Cemetery, Rt. 32 S. Monadnock Hwy. Swanzey, NH. 03446 Flowers will gladly be accepted.
