Linda G. (Atwood) Sharp

Linda G. (Atwood) Sharp, 67, of Berlin, Ohio and formerly of Ooltewah, TN, and Merrimack, N.H. died on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland OH. She passed peacefully after a period of declining health with the love of family near.

Linda was born the daughter of the late Carolyn (Corkins) and Edward Atwood on December 8, 1949 in Littleton, N.H. She was educated in Lincoln and graduated from Linwood High School class of 1967. Linda later went on in her education in nursing and became an LPN.

On June 21, 1969 she exchanged vows with Wayne P. Sharp at the Baptist Church in North Woodstock, N.H. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been happily married for forty-eight years.

She worked as the personnel director at the Inn at Honey Run in Berlin, OH. before retiring in 2007. Previously she had worked at a Cleveland Tennessee Hospital as a nurse on the Psych Ward. Prior to moving to TN. she worked at both hospitals in Nashua, N.H. in the operating and recovery units.

Linda had many interests in life. She enjoyed going on cruises with her husband and friends. Time was spent going to the ocean. She was an avid motor sports fan going to nascar and dirt track races and watching formula 1. She enjoyed camping and when time permitted a good book. Linda was at peace sitting in a chair watching the humming birds flutter around the feeders.

Mrs. Sharp in survived by her husband Wayne P. Sharp of Berlin, OH. Her children; Julie A Kirkpatrick and her husband Jeremiah of Williston, N.D. and Ken W. Sharp and his wife Terri of Charleston, S.C. Her siblings; David E. Atwood and his wife Kathy of Exeter, NH. and Debbie Sharp of North Woodstock, NH. Five grandchildren; Ashley, Joshua, Stephen, Abbie and Carolyn. In addition she leaves a great grandchild, KayVin, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Linda is pre-deceased by her brother Phillip Atwood who passed in 2014.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes all services were private. Burial took place at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. Donations can be sent in memory of Linda G. Sharp to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
