Leon Albert Reynolds

Leon Albert Reynolds, 84, of West Brattleboro, VT. and formerly of South Wardsboro, VT. died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his daughter Lisa’s farm in Winchester, NH.

Leon was born the son of the late Isla (Bills) and Robert Reynolds on May 13, 1932 in Whitingham, VT. where he also attended school.
On June 15, 1956 he exchanged vows with Marion Grace Mathewson. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Marion passed on February 19, 2005, after 50 years of marriage.

Leon worked as a heavy equipment operator and master mechanic for the Ralph Paradise Construction Company in Wardsboro, Vt. He then went on in similar role at the Scott Howe Construction Company.

He was an avid fan of NASCAR. He loved animals and working on the family farm. Leon was also very handy and could fix or repair almost anything.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by his children; Malcolm Mathewson and his wife Tammy of Spring City, TN., Michael Reynolds and his wife Iona of South Londonderry, VT., Lucille Reynolds of Springfield, VT., Leonard Reynolds and his wife Judy of Westminster, VT., Jade Winchester and her husband Robert of West Brattleboro, VT., Bill T. Reynolds of Hinsdale, and Lisa Reynolds and her husband David Koehler of Winchester. His sister, Sandy Frye and her husband Winn of Williamstown, MA, his sister Faye Reynolds of North Adams, MA, his sister “Skipper” from North Adams, MA, his sister Nancy Reynolds of North Adams, MA, and a brother Fred Reynolds of North Adams, MA. He also leaves fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Leon is predeceased by his siblings, Lois Young, Virginia LePage, Robert Reynolds, Erma Brown and Emily Reynolds. He is also pre-deceased by his granddaughter Jasmine.

In keeping with Leons wishes there are no calling hours. A gathering to celebrate his life will occur in the warmer weather with information to follow. Burial will also take place in the warmer weather. There will be a funeral service Saturday, March 25th at 10:00 am, at Cheshire Family Funeral Home and Crematories, 46 South Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. a gathering will follow at is daughter Lisa’ Reynolds home at 120 Manning Hill Road, Winchester, NH. 03470.
