Lawrence “Larry, Shorty” E. Jackson Sr. 77, of Keene and formerly of Sullivan died on Sunday, November 29, 2015. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his home after a period of declining heath with the love of his family near.

Lawrence was born the son of the late Clara E. (Chevalier) and Everett E. Jackson on May 16, 1938 in Springfield, Vt. Larry attended schools in Walpole and Keene.

On March 13, 1961 he exchanged vows with Linda Harmon. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. They have been married for almost fifty five years.

Larry worked for the Keene School District for twenty four years. He held many positions during that time and finished his career as a plumber before retiring in 2001 to enjoy his golden years with family. Prior Larry worked at the R.W. Payne Construction Company as a foreman for twenty years.

Time would be spent working in his gardens and doing outside work. This was a time for him to relax and enjoy nature. He could also be found fishing when time allowed. Larry was always doing things with his hands and he enjoyed carpentry. He was also a family man and would go to family events to catch up with everyone.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Linda Jackson of Keene. His children; Bonnie M. Day and her husband Timothy of Gilsum, Tina L. Haskell and her husband Deane of Franconia, Lawrence E. Jackson Jr. of Swanzey and Todd W. Jackson of Swanzey. His siblings; Irene Fowler of Claremont, Helen Osgood and her husband Wallen of Pittsburg, Linda Pond of Claremont and Nancy Holland of Lynch Station, VA. He also leaves his grandchildren; Mandi, Jason, Tanya, Tara, Matt, Todd Jr. Fischer, Heavyn, Aaron, Dylan, Amy and David. In addition to nine great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Larry is predeceased by his brother Richard Jackson who passed in 1990.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2 to 4pm. in the funeral chapel. Burial will take place later. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
