L. Dale Tindell

L. Dale Tindell of Keene and formerly of Walpole died on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland. He passed unexpectedly while there for rehabilitation.

He was born the son of the late Elva Tindell and Lloyd Tindell on December 3, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Burlingame High School class of 1952. Dale earned a BS, and an MS in Agriculture at Kansas State, as well as a PhD in Genetics at Kansas State University.

On April 8, 1955 he exchanged vows with Erma L. Merrifield at the First Methodist Church in Burlingame, Kansas. Dale and Erma would have been married for fifty nine years this April.

Dale was a Geneticist for DeKalb Poultry in DeKalb, Illinois for ten years before retiring in 1998. Prior he had worked at Hubbard Farms in Walpole, NH for 12 years.

Dale enjoyed many things in life. He was a member of the Poultry Science Association and attended annual conferences throughout his career. He liked playing cards especially canasta. Time was spent traveling with the family. For over 20 years an annual family road trip was taken to Kansas to attend extended family reunions. He was a former member of the Lions Club. In his younger years he enjoyed a good game of bowling. Most of all Dale was a family man. When he became a grandfather much of his time was spent going to various sporting events to watch the kids play.

Dale Tindell is survived by his wife Erma L. Tindell of Keene. He also leaves his children; Glenda R. Secord and her husband Wally of Keene. Kimberly A. Benoit and her husband Douglas of Concord. Amy M. Davis and her husband Dan of Limestone, Maine and Joan L. Ketchum and her husband Bradford of Manchester, Massachusetts. Seven grandchildren; Trevor and Benjamin Secord, Andrea and Brian Benoit, Taylor, Ethan and Emma Ketchum. A brother, Robert W. Tindell of Topeka, Kansas. He is pre deceased by his siblings, Richard Tindell and Anita Metz. In addition he leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 4 to 6pm. in the funeral chapel. Burial will take place later. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
