Joyce Elizabeth (Knapp) Beaman, born June 2, 1944, passed away peacefully on May 13th surrounded by her loved ones.

She spent her childhood in Hinsdale, NH with her beloved parents Lewis Russel Knapp and Velma (Bruce) Knapp whose yearly trips to Hampton Beach created a lifelong tradition Joyce carried on with her children and grandchildren. Joyce attended Hinsdale High School.

She was a beautiful young bride and raised four children with a sense of humor, unshakeable calm, and fierce love.

Joyce was co-owner of Beaman Lumber, Winchester, NH, for over 30 years and after selling the business she continued her career in accounting working at TPI Staffing and Southwestern Community Services where she made many special friends before retiring in 2014.

Joyce owned a second home on First Connecticut Lake and spent many summers enjoying the North Country and hosting trips with friends and family. Joyce was an avid traveler to all parts of the United States, Europe, and most notably her favorite destination the Big Island of Hawaii. She loved the beach, snorkeling, hiking and the volcano. When she wasn’t traveling, Joyce loved old movies and soap operas.

Joyce is survived by her children; Glenn and Irene Beaman of Swanzey; Dean and Maureen Beaman of Winchester; James and Jacqui Beaman of Fitzwilliam; and, Jill Beaman of Winchester. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Sarah Thompson and Christopher Beaman of Keene, NH; Lindsey Beaman of Long Beach, CA; Ashley Beaman of Plaistow, NH; JR and MacKenzie Rokes of Winchester, NH; and great grandson Mykah Beaman of Keene, NH.

In honor of Joyce’s wishes, the family will hold a private grave side service. A celebration of life will be held on June 30th at 1:00 pm for family and friends at 15 Upper Snow Road, Winchester, NH.
Her children wish to express their sincere appreciation for the dignity and care received by the wonderful people at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care, 154 Hitchcock Loop Road, Lebanon, NH 03756.
