James F. Frint

James F. Frint 84 of Swanzey and formerly of Gilsum died peacefully at Langdon Place in Keene after a period of failing health on the evening of November 24th. He died with the love and compassion of family at his side.

He was born in Charlestown on May 6, 1925 the son of Doris (Royce) and Forrest Frint. He was educated locally and left school as so many of his generation did after completing the eighth grade to help out on the family farm.

James took his vows to Miss. Violet I. Corey in 1948 at the Congregational Church in Gilsum. They made Gilsum there home where they raised a family of three. The Frints were married for 44 years before Violet passed on February 2, 1992.

Mr. Frint was gainfully employed with the Sprague and Carlton Furniture Company. He was an artisan with wood products and was a shaper of fine furniture, giving shape to various products. He was a loyal employee for over 25 years retiring in 1988.

James enjoyed life and his family. He and his wife were members of the Monadnock Squares Square Dancers for many years. Antique cars and car shows were ways to relax and reminisce about days gone by. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. It was common for the Frints to go for long Sunday drives to no specific destination. After retirement Mr. Frint became a snow bird spending winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida. with his companion of 13 years Virginia Baldwin.

James is survived by three loving and devoted daughters; Lorna M. Willard and her husband Robert of Gilsum, Darlene J. Youtsey and her husband Dana of Swanzey, Shirley M. McCord and her husband Brian of Stoddard. He also leaves a special friend who he loved like his own daughters; Joanna Batchelder. Grandpa will be missed by his seven grandchildren; Robert Willard, Deanna Whitney, Nicholas Youtsey, Scott McCord, Derek McCord, April Crowell, Daniel Gilbert and Bobbie Sue Willard. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren. James is pre-deceased by his siblings; Ruth Frint, Earl Frint and Ralph (Robert) Frint.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Village Church on Cobble Hill Rd. West Swanzey. Burial will be held in the spring at Centennial Cemetery, Gilsum. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family has requested donations be made in memory of James F.
