Henry “Hank” P. Miller, Jr. 67, of Ashburn. VA. and formerly of Swanzey and Keene died on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2018. He passed at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle to cancer.

Hank was born in Keene the son of the late Pauline (Sweeney) and Henry P. Miller on June 16, 1951. He was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1969.

On January 30, 1970 Hank enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served as an infantryman with the 101st. Airborne Division and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal and the Marksmanship Medal for M-16. He was honorably discharged at the rank of E-4 on May 10, 1971.

After returning from Vietnam, he worked for Kingsbury Corporation in Keene as an Electrical Controls Technician for over 40 years until he retired.

Hank enjoyed so many adventures to include; cruising with his wife and many of his close friends and family to incredible destinations, running with the bulls in Pamplona Spain with his son and he and Terry were always gracious to invite family and friends to vacation with them in Hawaii on many occasions. He always enjoyed a good poker game and trips to the casino. Hank spent countless hours on his John Deere tractor and building their “dream home” in Swanzey.

As an avid Patriots fan, many have shared in the famous celebratory Cheezit tradition whenever the Patriots scored. Everyone eats one Cheezit, including the family pets.

Hank will be loved and missed by many close family and friends.

Mr. Miller is survived by his loving wife, Teresa “Terry” (Giannetti) Miller, of Ashburn, VA. His son, Canaan Miller and his wife Kylene of Colorado Springs, CO. His stepsons; Scott Driscoll and wife Laurie of Surry. Brian Driscoll of Keene. His granddaughters; Caelyn and Kyrianna Miller, and Jordan and Avery Driscoll. His father-in-law, George Giannetti. His sister, Fay Wilson and her husband Cliff. In addition, he leaves; cousins, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Diana Weeks.

A period of calling will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 9 to 10am. with a celebration of life service to follow all in the funeral chapel. Burial will be private with military honors at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscowen. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Henry P. Miller Jr. to: Veteran Victory Farm, Fitzwilliam, NH. 3 Victory Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
