Helen Laura (LaMarche) Machietto, 90, of Winchester, NH. and formerly of Northampton and West Springfield, MA. died on November 6, 2015. at Applewood Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH. She passed peacefully with her daughter at her side after a short period of declining health.
Helen was born in Florence, MA. the daughter of the late Pamelia (Daigle Wheeler) and Joseph LaMarche. She was educated in Northampton, Ma. and graduated from Smith Vocational High School class of 1941. Later in life she returned to school to pursue a career in nursing.

Early on she worked at Pro Brush in Florence, MA. She was also employed as a nurse at the VA Hospital in Leeds, MA. and retired from the Northampton State Hospital in Northampton, MA. in a similar role.
She enjoyed spending time with family and going to tag sales. In her younger years, she liked to knit, crochet, and go dancing. Time was spent with her friends at the Winchester Elderly Housing with her cat.

Helen is survived by her son, Alan Gould and his wife Angela of Wellington, FL. her daughter Pam Bielunis and her husband Alan of Richmond, NH. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Dekoschak and her husband Mike of Ashfield, MA. Kevin Gould and his wife Sara, of Mendon, MA. Kimberly Free and her husband William of Royal Palm Beach, FL. Michael Gould and his wife Monica of Winter Garden, FL. Bryan Gould and his wife Nicole of Lake Worth, FL. Amy Ballou and her husband Chris of Walpole, NH. David Bielunis of Keene, NH. In addition she leaves 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 18 years Elio Machietto. Her three sisters, Yvonne Peterson, Delia Bickford, and Pamelia LaMarche. Her son, Ronald Gould and her grandson, Adam Bielunis.

In keeping with Helen’s wishes there will be no formal services. As an act of altruism for the betterment of society, Helen has donated herself to the Anatomical Gift Program at Harvard Medical School. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Activities Department or Rehabilitation Department, C/O Applewood Rehabilitation Center, 8 Snow Rd. Winchester, NH. 03470. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral home and Crematories, 46 South Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03431.
