Harry E. Pulkinen, 69, of West Swanzey, died peacefully while sleeping on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Westwood Care Center in Keene.

Harry was born the son of the late June (Kingsbury) and Antti Pulkinen. on July 31, 1949 in Westmoreland, NH. Harry was educated in Massachusetts and graduated from Brockton High School class of 1967.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sgt. / E-4.

Harry was a self employed carpenter and owner of the Harry Pulkinen Carpenter Co. for ten years until his retirement in 2011.

Harry had a passion for nature, the mountains and animals. He also enjoyed long walks in the country woods or quietly sitting on his porch with Lilly. Harry was a loving caregiver for his mother. He shared his talent of carpentry as an adult alongside his father. He was also an avid music lover and was known for his quick wit, his thumbs up bub and his kind and compassionate soul.

Mr. Pulkinen is survived by his two children; Thomas Rothermel and his spouse, Terra of Fitzwilliam, NH. Robyn Russell of Brockton, MA. Four grandchildren; Meghan, Hayden, Quinn and Quintin. Harry’s siblings; Dick, Peter, Mary, her husband Donald, Paul and his wife Linda, Susan her husband, Brian. In addition he leaves; aunts, uncles, several cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Harry is pre-deceased by his brother, Thomas.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday May 28, 2019 from 4 to 6pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the Cheshire Family Funeral Home at 10am. with burial to follow in the family lot with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Rd. Winchester, NH. 03470. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Harry E. Pulkinen to:
