Frederick Fred R. Doolittle 85 a life long resident of Winchester died on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family at hand after a period of decline.
Frederick was born the son of the late Elsie (Patenaude) and Forrest Doolittle on July 15, 1928 in Winchester. He was educated in the Winchester schools and graduated from Thayer High School class of 1946.
On August 6, 1955 he exchanged vows with Janet L. Pierce at the United Church of Christ in Winchester. They have been married for fifty eight years.
Fred worked at the Ashuelot Paper Mill for fifty years. He was the mill supervisor before retiring in 2004 to enjoy the golden years with family.
For fun Fred liked to go fishing and hunting. He would go camping with the family and enjoyed growing his flower and vegetable gardens. He was also a long time member of the Winchester Volunteer Fire Department. Most of all Fred loved being with his family.
Mr. Doolittle is survived by his wife, Janet L. Doolittle of Winchester. He also leaves his daughters and their spouses; JoAnn M. Perlowski and her husband Anthony of Keene and Karen L. Weston and her husband Dennis of Keene. Siblings; Shirley Doolittle, Beverly Brewer and her husband Bradley, George Doolittle and his wife Patricia all of Winchester. Three grandchildren and their spouses; Jesse Wilkins and his wife Emily of Keene, Rebecca Cloud and her husband Ian of Flagstaff, AZ. and Jayme Wilson and her husband Chris of Keene. One great grandchild, Cayden Weston in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Fred is pre deceased by his siblings; Geraldine Brewer, Rosalie Holman, Rodney Doolittle and Earl Doolittle.
