Frances “Betty” Dickinson, 92, life-long resident of Hinsdale died peacefully on January 16, 2024 with her daughter Ann by her side in Port Charlotte Florida after a period of declining health.

She was born the oldest daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Dubriski) Principe on August 7, 1931 in Hinsdale, NH. She was a graduate of the class of 1949 from Hinsdale High School. On June 17, 1950 she exchanged vows to Tink Dickinson at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Hinsdale. They were married for 50 years prior to his passing in 2000.

She worked at the former Book Press in Brattleboro, VT until her retirement in 1995. After retirement, she worked in the cafeteria at the Hinsdale schools for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Parish of the Holy Spirit in Hinsdale. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, wintering in Florida and mostly she enjoyed the time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

Betty is survived by her daughters Ann Whittle of Hinsdale and Jeanne LaMontagne and her husband George of Winter Haven, Florida, her beloved grandchildren Joel Dickinson and his wife Ashley of Quacker Hill, CT, Heather Pelkey and her husband Bruce of Winchester, NH, 4 beautiful great-granddaughters Bryn and Camryn Dickinson and Ava and Brenna Pelkey, two sisters Janet Benjamin and her husband David of Westfield, MA and Connie Curtis and her husband Gary of Punta Gorda, FL. In addition, she leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

She is predeceased by two sisters Joan and Angela Principe, her son-in-law John Whittle, and granddaughter Tricia Whittle.
