Frances was born the daughter of the late Marion (Farnum) and Cleon Nims on November 2, 1933 in Keene. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1951.
In the summer of 1954 in Keene she exchanged vows with Wendell O. Durell. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Wendell passed on January 31, 1992 after thirty-eights years of marriage.

Frances was mostly a home maker. It was important for her to be home to assist with the boys needs and keep a proper home. When Frances and Wendell first started a family she worked at National Grange Mutual in Keene as a Punch Card Operator for a few years. After raising her family, Frances could always be found working at “Fair Trade Antiques” consignment shops at the Cheshire Fair Grounds.

Frances had a spiritual side to her. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Keene.
She enjoyed antiquing, especially at the flea markets in Newfane, VT. She and Wendell spent many a Sunday traveling over to find treasures, antiques and collectables. Time was also spent going to tag sales.

Mrs. Durell is survived by her three sons; Joseph D. Durell and his wife, Beth of Keene, Matthew J. Durell and his wife, Dawn of Sarasota, FL. and David M. Durell of Sarasota. Her brother Robert Nims and his wife Jerry of Hubbardston, MA. Two grandchildren; Spencer Durell of Sarasota, FL. and Kiley Jo Durell of Keene.
