Florence Rita (Beaulac) Van Wickler, 90, of Stoddard and formerly of Madison, NH. died on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. She passed peacefully after a period of declining health.
Florence was born the daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Beaulac in the Provence of Quebec, Canada. She was educated in Canada. At the age of 18 she relocating with her parents and brother to Chicopee, Massachusetts. On November 7, 1946 she became a naturalized, United States Citizen in Hampden County, Massachusetts.
Florence was previously married to Roland Lucier. They had two sons, George and Robert. On April 21, 1956 she was remarried to, Norman P. Van Wickler who had two sons, Peter and Norman Jr. In 1960 she gave birth to their son, Richard who was their only child together.
Florence held several managerial and accounting positons in her lifetime and after settling in New Hampshire. She was a long-time manager of the Yield House Furniture Store in Conway, NH.
In her younger years she enjoyed skating which was her favorite past time, where she had won serveral awards. She enjoyed being a military wife immensely and never tired of traveling. She was especially fond of Europe. During her time as a military family member, she became an exceptional bowler winning numerous league trophies where she then went on to become a nationally certified bowling instructor. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxillary in Ossipee and also a member of the American Legion Auxillary in Conway, NH. Flo had a sense of humor and enjoyed entertaining company even if it was without a moments notice. She loved to laugh and dream about continued travel around the world.
Mrs. Van Wickler is survived by her four sons, four daughter in-laws, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well as many friends from Madison, Keene and Maplewood Assisted Living Home in Westmoreland, NH. Florence is pre-deceased by her son Norman P. Van Wickler Jr. who passed earlier.
In keeping with Flo’s wishes there are no public services. Burial will take place next to her husband, CMSGT. Norman P. Van Wickler at the NH. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
