Evelyn G. (Wells) Arsenault 83 a long time resident of Swanzey died on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Applewood Care Center in Winchester. She passed peacefully with family near after a period of declining health.
Evelyn was born the daughter of the late Rose (Ayr) and Henry Wells on August 7, 1930 in Conway, Massachusetts. She was educated in Conway and graduated from the Conway Academy class of 1948.
On January 19, 1979 she exchanged vows with Joseph Ray R. Arsenault in simple service in Brattleboro, VT. They have been married for thirty five years.
Evelyn had many jobs over the years. She was a waitress at the Swanzey Diner for ten years before retiring in 1993 to enjoy her golden years with family. Prior, she had worked as a Certified Nursing assistant in Greenfield, MA. for six years. She was also the owner and operator of her own school bus in South Deerfield, Mass. for fifteen years.
Evelyn enjoyed dancing with her husband Ray in her younger years. Time was spent helping the elderly and children. She loved to be around her family especially the young ones. Evelyn also liked to go to dinner with family and friends.
Mrs. Arsenault is survived by her husband Joseph R. Ray Arsenault of Swanzey. She also leaves her daughter Dayle Best and her husband Gary of South Deerfield, MA. Thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Evelyn is pre deceased by her son Richard A. Bridges who passed on November 10, 1982 and her siblings; Louis Wells, Donald Wells, Clarence Wells, Hazel Purrington, Lillian Dacey and Edith Borne.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10am. in the family lot at Mountain View Cemetery, Monadnock Highway, Rt. 32 South. Swanzey, NH. 03446. There are no calling hours. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Evelyn G. Arsenault to: St. Vincent De Paul Society, C/O St. Bernards Church 185 Main St. Keene, NH. 03431.
