Send Condolences

Emil R. Droppa, 92 of Keene and formerly of Texas and New Jersey died on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. He passed peacefully with dignity after a brief period of declining health.

Emil was born the son of the late Sophia and Matej Droppa on October 28, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up during the Great Depression and never finished High School. He had to fight in the Second World War as many of his day did. He never owned a home or a new car. He worked at a factory, for Revlon his entire career until he retired. Emil lovingly raised 5 children with his wife Jean and compassionately cared for her until she passed away. He endured the loss of two sons. Always full of love and with an indomitable spirit he was the happiest man we ever knew. He was from the generation where it took very little to make you happy and a whole lot to get you down. He was our inspiration and our hero. People will remember his witty sense of humor and his constant singing. He was character who made an impression on all he met. He loved his grandchildren more than words can express and called them the Cat’s Meow…(his line). He was truly a member of that Greatest Generation and we are proud and fell privileged to have been members of his family.

All services are private and under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. www.cheshirefamilyfuneralhome.com
