Elizabeth “Lizzie” A. (Richardson) Richardson, 63, of Swanzey and formerly of Troy and Winchendon, MA., passed peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family after a brief period of declining health.
She was born to Margaret A. (Camara) and the late Charles D. Richardson on May 17, 1960, in Providence, RI. She was educated at Mill River Union and Middlebury Union High School in Vermont, class of 1978. She continued her education at Berklee College of Music where she obtained her BA in music class of 1981. She then went on to get her MA in School Counseling at Keene State College class of 1992.
She had worked at Keene State College for twelve years in the IT department doing system administration till she retired in 2018. Prior she had worked at Northfield Mount Hermon in Northfield, MA., as the Administrator of Registration for five years. She had also worked at Fitchburg Community College as a Registrar for five years.
Lizzie had many passions in life. She enjoyed performing (cabaret and musical theater), eco-dying, felting, flower gardening, cooking, and reading. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Elizabeth answered to: Elizabeth, Liz, Lizzie, Pooh, Spike, Auntie, Mom, Mother Dearest, Mumzy, Mum, Sissy, and The Kid, as well as other names not necessarily fit for human hearing.
But she’d answer to all; very few requests would go unanswered. She was a Mom, an Auntie, a friend, a lover, a daughter, a helper, a confidant, a mentor, a supporter, a musician, and a singer. She was an advisor, a politician, an instigator, an engine of change, a disciplinarian, and a teacher. She expected those around her to work as hard as she did and appreciated and rewarded good work. She had rough times and survived them. When she made a decision she didn’t waiver. She loved her children with all her heart and soul and believes if they pull together they will move through the rain.
Ms. Richardson is survived by her three children, Eleanor R Martin and her significant other, Cindy Carchide of Keene, Riley R. Martin of Keene and Lucia M.R. Martin of Nashua. She is also survived by her mother, Margaret and her husband Sanford, of Shoreham, VT., and her two siblings, Peter A. Richardson from Brownington, VT., and John E. Zecher and his wife Ana of John’s Island, SC. Along with cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
