Elise R. (Russell) Schultz 83 a life long resident of Winchester, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She passed peacefully with her family at her side after a brief illness.

Elise was born the daughter of the late Nellie E. (Craig) and William W. Russell on January 1, 1932 in Center Sandwich. She was educated in Winchester and graduated from Thayer High School class of 1950.

On August 25, 1951 she exchanged vows with Walter J. Schultz at St. Stanislaus Church in Winchester. They were married with close family and friends in attendance. He passed in 1979.

Elise had worked at Kulick’s Market in Winchester for ten years as a cashier before retiring in 2002. Previously she had been employed by the Book Press in Brattleboro as a Binder for many years and Smalleaz in Winchester.

She enjoyed going to bingo with her friends. Time was spent bowling. She was also an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan. Elise was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Winchester, Post 3968.

Ms. Schultz is survived by her children and their spouses; Michael J. Schultz and his significant other Kathleen Lopez of Newfoundland, N.J. Gary W. Schultz and his wife Kathleen of Ashuelot and Alan “Peter” Schultz and his wife Priscilla of Groton, MA. Siblings; William Russell of Winchester, Norma Hobson of Peterborough, Audrey Herman of Ashuelot and Nancy Paquette and her husband Donald of Ocala, FL. Her eight grandchildren; Matthew and Michael Schultz of Greenwood Lake, N.Y. Walter, Andrew and Gregory Schultz of Ashuelot, Christopher Schultz and wife Heather, of Townsend, MA. and David Schultz of Merrimack, NH. Two great grandchildren; Mason and Jace Schultz of Townsend, MA. in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Elise is predeceased by her siblings; Erma Audette, Beverly Schmeigle, Muriel Rich, Ruth Russell, Priscilla Nelson, Marlene Murray, Donna Russell and Donald Russell.

In keeping with Elise’s wishes there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery. Information will be printed closer to services.
