Edward (Ed) E. Weeks Sr. 63, of Surry and formerly of Keene died on Friday, January 22, 2016 fro injuries sustained after being hit by a car in Fitzwilliam.

He was born on January 29, 1952 in Keene and attended schools in Westmoreland.

On January 19, 1980 he exchanged vows with Linda M. Hall at the Keene Assembly of God. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been married for thirty six years.

Ed was a safety flagger for the New England traffic Control Company for over twenty five years. He loved his job even though he knew it was dangerous.

Ed was a giving and member of the Keene Assembly of God for many years. His passion was fishing. Ed held the national record for the second biggest Crappie ever recorded. He was also a very funny guy who loved to laugh and smile. Time was spent on his CB radio. For quiet time Ed could be found mowing his lawn. He liked old cars. So much so that he volunteered at the annual Keene Kiwanas Car show every year. Time was spent going camping with the family and attending family events. Ed was such a giving and loving guy that when Hurricane Andrew hit he organized a tractor trailer event to bring food, water and other supplies to Homestead, Florida. He and two others drove the needed supplies down to assist with the recovery and they stayed for a week to give a hand.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife, Linda M. Weeks of Surry. His children: Mark R. Johnson and his fiancee’ Barb DiNapoli of Surry, Marissa L. Gulliver and her husband Dennis of Leominster, MA. Matthew E. Weeks of Fitchburg, MA. Edward E. Weeks Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Swanzey, and Timothy M. Weeks and his fiancee’ Cyndi Royce of Surry. He also leaves grandchildren; Michael H. Johnson of Surry, Christopher M. Weeks of Swanzey, Nicholas, Jeffrey, and Victoria Gulliver of Leominster, Tabia and Cody Weeks of Fitchburg, MA. In addition he leaves cousins, extended family and numerous friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5 to 8pm. in the funeral chapel. An additional hour of calling will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10am. in the Keene Assembly of God, 121 Park Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. prior to the celebration of life service. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Edward E. Weeks Sr. to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
