Douglas “Doug” H. Ebert, 73, a long-time resident of Keene and formerly of Danbury, CT. died on Friday, April 21, 2017. He passed unexpectedly in the comfort of his home in Keene.

Douglas was born the son of the late Lillian (Redluske) and Harold Ebert on April 22, 1943 in Utica, MI. He was educated in Utica and graduated from Utica High School class of 1961. Doug went on in his studies and attended Northern Michigan College.
Doug was engaged to Ann Cappellano. They have been together for the past eleven years. Prior Doug was married to Janice (Robidoux). They were married for 16 years until she passed in October 8, 2007.

He was employed by the McMillan Construction Company for many years as a carpenter before retiring in 2009. He also worked for the Baybutt Construction Company in a similar role.

Doug was a longtime member of the Gilsum Congregational Church where he was a Trustee. When he lived in Michigan he was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica where he served on various boards. He was also President of the Athletics Booster Club at Lutheran High School North where his children attended school. He enjoyed many things over the years. He liked to boat and ski. In his college years he played football. Doug was a long-time member of the Elks Club, Lodge #927 in Keene where he sat as the Exhaulted Ruler and was a Trustee for fifteen years. With time he became the Camp Director and Secretery / Treasurer of PER Association.

Mr. Ebert is survived by his fiance, Ann Capellano of Keene. His children; Christopher Ebert and his wife Michele Buckler of MI. and Deanna Beatty and her husband Gregg of MI. His sister, Joan Dort of MI. His children from a combined marriage; Katherine Bartnicki and her husband Robert of VA. Renee Gammans and her husband Gary of NH. and daughter in-law Tammie Record of NH. His grandchildren; Morgan Cebelak, Derek Beatty, Brandon Ebert and Jillian Ebert. Grandchildren from a combined marriage; Colin Gammans, Tyler Gammans, Courtney Leonard, Robert Bartnicki, Jared Record, Kristen Record and Jenna Record. Doug is pre-deceased by his son Richard Record who passed on July 13, 2011. His sister, Nancy Bauxbaum and her husband Phil and brother in-law Roy Dort all passed earlier.

In keeping with Dougs wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:30am. in the Gilsum Congregational Church, 13 Main St. Gilsum, NH. 03448. Burial will take place in the family lot back in Utica, Michigan. Donations may be made in memory of Douglas H. Ebert to: Elks Lodge, 927, 81 Roxbury St. Keene, NH. 03431.
