Dorothy (Tolchin) Patnaude 91, of Keene and formerly of Salem, NH, California, and North Dakota died on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Keene Center Genesis in Keene. She passed peacefully after a period of declining health and was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

She was born the daughter of the late Sarah (Fisher) and Samuel Tolchin on January 10, 1923 in South Haven, Michigan. Dorothy lived at and attended the Bellefaire JOH in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was previously married to Arthur Patnaude with whom she raised three children.

Dorothy had worked in many positions and roles over her career. She was primarily a care giver and Practical Nurse for many years. In 1996 Dorothy retired from Green Thumb Community Outreach Program in North Dakota.

She was a woman of strong Christian faith and read the Bible every day. During her 60’s and 70’s Dorothy enjoyed traveling extensively across the country. Time was also spent crocheting and painting mosaics. She enjoyed reading about politics and current events. Dorothy was always up for some bantering about our government and current issues. She liked to be with family and friends in social situations and gatherings.

Ms. Patnaude is survived by her three children and their spouses: Mark T. Patnaude and his wife Karen of East Kingston, NH, Garnet (Bruce) B. Patnaude of Melbourne, Florida, and June A. Jacobs and her husband Arthur of Keene; her sister, Rose Albert of West Palm Beach, California; her four grandchildren, Zachary Patnaude, Jeremy Patnaude, Duston Blanchette and Cally May; five great grandchildren, Abigail May, Audrey, May, Adeline May, Racquelle Blanchette and Hunter Blanchette in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 9 to 11am. in the funeral chapel. A celebration of life service will follow with burial to take place at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
