Dorothy M. (Everman) Szekula, 92, a longtime resident of Keene died on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Applewood Care Center in Winchester. She passed peacefully while sleeping.

Dorothy was born the daughter of the late Grace (Williams) and Thomas Everman on February 11, 1924 in Denville, New Jersey.

On February 1, 1942, she exchanged vows with John Szekula. They were married at the home of friends and celebrated with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, John passed on March 6, 2017 after seventy-five years of marriage.

Dorothy was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed making crafts, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed watching her afternoon soap operas.
Mrs. Szekula is survived by her three daughters; Judith A. Luke and her husband Donald of Stoddard, Kathleen S. Strubble and her husband Robert of Wilmington, N.C. and Jacalyn Dykuizen of Queen Creek, AZ. Four grandchildren; Georgeanne Luke of Keene, Donald Luke Jr. of Oeterborough and Michael D. Jakway of Wilmington, N.C. and Jason Taylor of Sullivan. Dorothy also leaves; nine great grandchildren, extended family and friends. Dorothy is pre-deceased by her grandson Johnathan (Jakway) Szekula who passed in 2010 and her brother, Edward T. Szekula who passed during World War II.
