Doris (Blanchette) Speaks 86 of Hinsdale, New Hampshire. and formerly a long time resident of Willimantic Ct. died on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Langdon Place of Keene in Keene, N.H.
She was born the daughter of the late Claudia and Robert Blanchette on May 4, 1927 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Doris was educated in Willimantic and graduated from High School class of 1946.
On April 8, 1954 she exchanged vows with John L. Speaks. Sadly he passed on April 14, 2004.
Doris was the Book Store Manager at the University of Connecticut for many years.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and was fond of her many cats. Time was spent in the garden and she enjoyed sewing slip covers.
Mrs. Speaks is survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses; Lynn C. Lowe and her husband Calvin of Hinsdale, Diane M. Evans and her husband Noble of Baltimore, MD. Betsy A. West and her husband Scott of Eliot, ME. Paul Bongo and his wife Betty of Port St. Lucie, FL. SanDee McBride of Montana and Robert McBride of Oregon.
