Dayna Mary (Priest) Stoddard

Send Condolences

Dayna Mary (Priest) Stoddard, 58, of Troy passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 9th, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 11th 1958 in Keene, the daughter of Chester and Mary (Tatro) Priest. She was a 1976 graduate of Monadnock Regional High School. She married her husband William (Butch) Stoddard on May 26th 1984. She became a stay-at-home mother after the birth of her first child, Shayna Mary (Stoddard) Boudreau on May 10th 1987. Her son Ryan William Stoddard was born on December 4th 1989 and Brandon William Stoddard January 2nd 1991. Anyone who knew her knew that her children were her pride and joy and the loves of her life. She was always involved in all of their sporting events, hardly ever missing a game.

Dayna lived in the house she and Butch built next to her mother for 25 years. She ran her own business for fifteen years. Her love of children extended with the ACES program at Troy Elementary School over the past ten years. She volunteered with the YMCA American Heritage and New England Heritage tour, ever since her children attended and up until this past year.

Dayna made a lasting impression on all those she met and was loved by all. She had a kindhearted and nurturing spirit, always selflessly putting her children as her first priority. She found joy in the simple things in life; her garden, nature, the ocean, reading, crafts, and of course her children. She always found time to make personalized gifts during the holidays and decorating the house was a particular joy for her.

Some of her favorite memories were family camping vacations in Maine by the beach. Recently she was overjoyed to become a grandmother with the birth of her first granddaughter Delainey Shay Stoddard born to Ryan and Marla Stoddard on her birthday May 11th, 2016. She met her second granddaughter Edythe May Boudreau, born to Shayna and Joe Boudreau, on September 30th 2016. Although she was only able to spend limited time with them she left each of them with some of those heartfelt homemade items in blankets, etc.

She is survived by her husband Butch, her children Shayna, Ryan and Brandon; her two beloved granddaughters Delainey and Edythe; her sisters Diane Lepisto of Troy, Wendy Guyette of Swanzey, and Debbie Priest of Troy; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Dayna’s wishes there are calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in the family lot at the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy. A celebration of life will be held at the Troy Trinitarian Congregational Church on Rte. 12 (across from the Troy library) in Troy, NH at 2:00 pm on Thursday November 17th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006 in memory of Dayna Stoddard. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home, 46 S. Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. WWW.chshirefamilyfh.com
