Collette (Desmarais) Dearborn, of Swanzey, passed on October 10, 2018, at Concord Hospital after a period of declining health. She was 69.
Collette was born in Troy, NH on December 30, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Beatrice H. (Carlisle) and Joseph R. Desmarais. Collette was a graduate of Monadnock Regional High School and New Hampshire College. On February 14, 1995, she and A. Peter Dearborn were married in a simple ceremony at their home in Swanzey.
Collette worked for the Sodexo Company at the Dining Commons at Keene State College for fifteen years before retiring in 2015. Prior to that, she worked as an underwriter at Peerless Insurance Company for over a decade.
Collette enjoyed decorating her circa 1880’s home, gardening, cooking, travel, and reading.
She is survived by her husband, A. Peter Dearborn, her children Jennifer (Christopher) Longiaru of Harrison, NY, Zachary Wilson of Charleston, SC, and her sister Annette Stearman, of Littleton, CO. In addition, she leaves; three grandchildren, five step-children, five step-grandchildren, a large extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Barbara Desmarais.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 5 to 7pm. in the funeral home. In keeping with Collette’s wishes there are no formal services and burial will take place later. Flowers will gladly be accepted.
