Christopher (Chris) J. Jarvis 55 of Winchester died on June 10, 2010 suddenly and unexpectedly in the familiar surroundings of his home.

He was born the son of Lucy G. (Lavigne) and Edward H. Jarvis on February 10, 1955 in Amsterdam, New York. He was educated locally and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School class of 1973. He went forward with his education and studied very had to gain a Bachelors Degree in Nuclear Engineering. He completed his degree at State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1978.

Mr. Jarvis was a confirmed bachelor. He enjoyed his life and his ability to live life to the fullest.

He worked for many years as an engineer at Combustion Engineering and Long Island Light. He had also been gainfully employed at H. B. Smith Company. For the past thirteen years Chris had been employed by Aubuchon Hardware in Winchester, NH. He enjoyed being part of a team and dealing with the public. He was very respected by the people he worked with and will be missed.

Chris was an avid Science Fiction fan. He loved to watch Star Trek and other Sci-Fi shows. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, building, repairing and making them work more efficiently. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on old cars. He was a car buff and enjoyed cutting wood for pleasure. Mr. Jarvis liked to go to gatherings for family events. His family was very important to him.

Christopher is survived by his eight brothers and sisters; Edward Jarvis of Rochester, NY., Joseph Jarvis of Greenfield Center, NY., Donald Jarvis of Niskayuna, NY., Michael Jarvis of Cardington, OH., Lucy Lewis of Elsah, IL., Eleanor Braat of Espirance, NY., Donna Thorne of Clifton Park, NY. and Mary Smith of Clifton Park, NY.. Chris is also survived by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents; Lucy (Lavigne) and Edward Jarvis who both passed in 1974. He is also pre-deceased by his siblings; Christine, Robert and Peter.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8p.m. A funeral mass with Christian burial rights will be held on Wednesday at 10a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace, St. Stanislaus Church, on Richmond Rd. Winchester, NH. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Rd. Winchester. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, at the request of the family donations maybe made in memory of Christopher J. Jarvis to the American Heart Association , P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY. 13220-3049.
