Charles F. (Spike) McCullough Jr. 69 of Troy died unexpectedly on 29 October 2009 at Keene Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

He was born the son of Eva M. (Olmstead) and Charles F. McCullough Sr. On August 31, 1940 in Keene. He was educated locally and attended Keene High School.

Spike worked for the Sears Robuct Company for 11 years after high school. He worked as an appliance repairman and in 1969 he opened the McCullough Repair Service in Troy. Mr. McCullough was the owner and operator specializing in commercial refrigeration and appliance repair. He has owned his own business for 40 years. When Charles first moved to Troy, he worked as a part time Police Officer from 1963 until 1972.

On September 20, 1958 Mr. McCullough took his vows with Miss Janet Lang at the Swanzey Congregational Church in Swanzey Center. They have been happily married for 51 years. Last year they took a trip to Alaska to celebrate there 50th. anniversary.

The McCulloughs moved to Troy in 1963 where they made Troy home. Spike had previously lived in Keene and the surrounding area.

Spike was a member of the American Legion, Post 4 in Keene for many years. He was also active with the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Keene. He enjoyed going camping in the R.V. and was a hunter in his younger days. He also liked to go snowmobiling with his family.

Charles is survived by his wife Janet McCullough of Troy. He is also the proud father of two children; Charles F. McCullough III and his wife Kimberly of Spotsylvania, VA. his daughter, Kathleen J. Evans and her husband Jeb of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by his siblings; William McCullough and his wife Leslie of Tolland, CT. and Charlene Williams and her husband Robert of Hemet, CA. Grandpa/Pappa will be missed by his five grandchildren; Amanda, Nathan, Carisse, Jeffrey and Sara. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His two sisters Patricia Fuller and Mary Cote died earlier.

There are no public services scheduled. A private burial will be held later. At the request of the family, donations should be made in memory of Charles F. (Spike) McCullough Jr. to the Troy Ambulance Service, 14 Central Square, Troy, NH. 03465 or to the Helping Hands of Troy, 3 Water St., Troy, NH. 03465.
