Caellan Petardi

Send Condolences

Caellan Petardi, 5, of Keene and formerly of Wichita, Kansas died on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He passed peacefully and unexpectedly with the love and compassion of his family surrounding him.

Caellan was born the son of Anna Rose McDougal on August 6, 2010 in Wichita, KS. He went to preschool at Keene Daycare (his beloved Pink Door) and has been attending kindergarten at Symonds Elementary School in Keene. He loved his new school and all his teachers and friends.

He was a very loving and compassionate child, always wanting to be with his family and friends. Caellans passion was anything to do with cars and trucks. He asked endless questions about vehicles and the first question he asked anyone was what kind of car they drove. He made an infinite variety of sounds as he played; car doors, keys in the ignition, engines, airbrakes, back-up warnings as well as many others. He loved being outdoors and any sort of wildlife. Sea turtles and piping plovers were some of the creatures closest to his heart. He was incredibly musical. He remembered any song he heard and would sing it back to you in his beautiful voice. His innate sense of rhythm was expressed through drumming. He did so any chance he had, whether or not it was one of his drums, because anything could be turned into a drum. He had a vivid imagination.

He will be remembered for his joyous spirit, boundless energy and infinite questions and conversations. He reached out to everybody with love and hugs.
Caellan Joe is survived by his mother, Anna Rose McDougal and his brother Korbin, his grandparents, Lisa McDougal and Jeffrey Love, his aunt, Lenoir McDougal and her husband, Daniel Law and his cousin James, all of Keene. He also has his uncle, Matthew McDougal of Boston and his uncle and aunt, Michael McDougal and Alina Michelewicz of Newburyport, MA. He is also survived by his great-grandmother, Carol Lenoir Swedberg, of Moultonborough, NH.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2 to 4pm. in the funeral chapel. A celebration of life service will be held later. Burial will be private. Flowers will gladly be accepted. All are encouraged to attend with their children. We will have councilors available for children and guests with questions.
