Beverly “Bev” J. (Buffum) Wilber, 80, of Marlborough and formerly of Westport Village died on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Cheshire Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Keene. She passed peacefully with her family at her side after a brief period of declining health.
Beverly was born the daughter of the late Sylvia (Russell) and James Buffum on May 19, 1936 in Keene. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1955.
On December 31, 1955 she exchanged vows with Morris “Moe” W. Wilber at the First Congregational Church in Keene. They were married with family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Morris passed on April 2, 2014 after forty-nine years of marriage.
Bev was most happy being at home raising her family. She felt her family was important to her thus with her abundant kindness and unselfish devotion to her family and friends; she touched countless lives. She will be sorely missed by all. She was a much loved Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt Grandmother, and friend.
She was a woman of tremendous faith and a long time member of the Westport Village Church.
Mrs. Wilber is survived by her children; Morris S. Wilber Jr. and his wife Diane of Keene, Keith A. Wilber of Westport, David M. Wilber and his wife Donna of Swanzey, Kenneth W. Wilber and his wife Christine of Marlborough,
Vincent A. Wilber and his wife Karen of Marlborough. Her siblings; sisters Jessie Young and her husband Douglas of Hopkinsville, KY. and Joyce Stevens and her and husband James Stevens of Winchester. Her brother Franklin Buffum and his wife Judy of Keene. Eight grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her grandsons Joshua Wilber in 2009 and Mark Smith in 1999. She also lost her brother, Frederick Buffum her sister Flora Desrosiers and recently her sister Ruth Kathan this spring of 2016.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 6 to 8pm. A celebration of life service will occur in the funeral home on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10am. Burial will follow in the family lot at Westport Cemetery, Westport Village Rd. Swanzey, NH. 03446. Flowers will gladly be accepted. All services are under the direction of Cheshire Family Funeral Home and Crematories, 46 S. Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446.
