Betty M. (Lavine) Lamoureux, 86, of Swanzey and formerly a long-time resident of Keene died on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She passed peacefully with the love and compassion of family near after a brief period of declining health.
Betty was born the daughter of the late Marguerite (Joslin) and Earl Lavine on June 17, 1931 in Ludlow, VT. She was educated locally and graduated Keene High School class of 1951.
On July 3, 1954 she exchanged vows with Robert H. Lamoureux in Keene. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. Sadly, Robert passed on October 17, 2004 after fifty years of marriage.
Betty worked at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene as a member of the housekeeping and environmental services team. She retired in 1996 after twenty-five years of service to the hospital and patients.
She was a very private person. Time was spent watching the Red Sox and Patriots on TV. She was an avid game show and soap opera fan. Mostly she enjoyed being around her family.
Mrs. Lamoureux is survived by her children; Allyn R. Lamoureux and his wife Karen of Swanzey and Lynn M. Greene and her husband Brandon of Swanzey. Her siblings; Clyde “Bob” Lavine and his wife Ruth of Norway, ME. and Kevin Lavine and his wife Mary of York, PA. Five grandchildren; Jolene Lamoureux, James Lamoureux and his wife Leslie, 
Derek James, Jillian James and Caithlin Lamoureux. A great grandson, Jimmy Lamoureux. Her daughter in-law, Jodi Lamoureux of Danbury, NH. In addition, she leaves nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Betty is pre-deceased by her son Douglas M. Lamoureux who passed on September 28, 2016.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10am. with a celebration of life service at 11am. all in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in the family lot at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Betty L.
