Bernice E. (Swett) Clark, 88, of Keene and the Cheshire County area died on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Westwood Care Center in Keene. She passed peacefully surrounded by family after a period of declining health.

Bernice was born the daughter of the late Helen (Whitney) and Perley Swett on March 17, 1928 in Sullivan. She was educated locally and graduated from Keene High School class of 1945.

On December 21, 1946 she exchanged vows with David E. Clark. They were married in a simple service with close family and friends in attendance. David passed on November 1, 1991 after 45 years of marriage.

Bernice was formerly employed by Master Hair Styles in Port Charlotte, Florida for two years before moving to Utah and then back to New Hampshire. Prior, she had worked at Millipore in Jaffrey. Mostly, Bernice was a stay-at-home mom raising her ten children and being home for their needs. She was active in her community of Sullivan NH.

She was very involved in her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Keene. She enjoyed crocheting and cultivating her flower and vegetable gardens. Her pride in life was her family. She was an involved and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and eventually a great-great grandmother.

Mrs. Clark is survived by over 130 descendants including her children; Eileen Pruett and her husband Laddie of West Valley, UT. Warren Clark and his wife Nancy of Keene, Priscilla Ellsworth and her husband Milo of Port Charlotte, FL. Walter Clark and his wife Carol of Cranston, R.I. Patricia Sittler of Port Charlotte, FL. William Clark of Keene, Deborah Williams and her husband John of Keene, Charlotte Clark of Orem, UT. and Wesley
Clark and his wife Carol of American Fork, UT. In addition, she leaves many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bernice is predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Davis who passed on November 30, 2009. Bernice was also predeceased by her siblings; Harvey Swett, Richard Swett, Maurice Swett, Warren Swett, Dora Wilder, and Dorothy Nims.

Calling hours will be held at Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be held on Friday, August 5 at 10:00am. with a short viewing time from 9:00 to 9:30am. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 130 Summit Rd.
