Allen Tink E. Grimes, 75, a life-long resident of Chesterfield, N.H. died on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born the third of seven children to the late Rose (Collis) and Earl Grimes on March 27, 1937 in West Chesterfield, NH. Tink attended Chesterfield Elementary School and graduated from Brattleboro High School in 1955.
On October 11, 1958 he married Marion E. Clark in Putney, VT. They married in a simple ceremony and were happily married for fifty-four years.
Tink retired from the State of New Hampshire DOT in 2004. Previously, he had worked a number of years at the St. Johnsbury Trucking Company in Bellows Falls.
Tink was an avid outdoorsman and spent as much time as possible hunting and fishing with his buddies. He was eager to help his family and friends with their various projects. He was always full of great advice and tips in exchange for a cold one. In his spare time he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, building in his wood shop, and maintaining all his toys.
Tink is survived by his loving wife, Marion; his only daughter, Pamela and her husband Russell Bergeron, of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Eric and Lisa Bergeron, both of Chesterfield; his sister, Alice Dembeck of Northfield, MA; his brothers, Jerry Grimes of Mississippi and George Grimes of Chesterfield. Three brothers, Alfred, Ralph and Frank predeceased him.
Tink will be laid to rest at the Chesterfield West Cemetery in early May. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Allen E.
