Dorothy “Dottie” A. (Lord) Walsh, 75, a long-time resident of Keene and Westmoreland died peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health.

Dottie was born the daughter of the late Kazmira (Gonet) and Frederick Lord on July 19, 1941 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was educated in Springfield and graduated from Commerce High School, class of 1959.

On July 18, 1959 she exchanged vows with Raymond E. Walsh at St. Thomas of Aquinas Church in Springfield. They were married with family and friends in attendance and have been happily married for fifty-eight years.

Dottie was formerly employed at Blais Realty handling accounts and running the office and then was employed by Sears in a similar position. Prior to her work at Blais Realty, she was a stay at home mom keeping her home in order and raising her children.

She enjoyed her flower gardens and traveling. Her favorite trips were to wherever Ray would take her, including Las Vegas, Florida, Germany, California and the Caribbean. She loved to cook for family and friends. Dottie was very social. She enjoyed a good board, card or dominos game with family and friends and going to the Italian Club for dinner and dancing. Her pride in life was her husband and children and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored spending time with all of them and wanted to be a special part of their lives.

Dottie is survived by her husband, Raymond E. Walsh, her children Michael A. Walsh and his wife Deborah of Georgia, Lori A. Sartorio and her husband Scott of Keene, Debra J. Nelson and her husband Harry of Westmoreland, Kelly M. Frye and her husband Joe of Keene, her brothers Eugene Lord and his wife Claudette of Massachusetts, Alan Lord and his wife Julie of Harrisville, twelve grandchildren, Amy, Sheena, Jason, Raymond, Sarah, Meghann, Scott, Erica, Melissa, Hillary, Kody and Jaden, fourteen great grandchildren and a special “daughter” she inherited later in life, Marion Sohndel and husband Torsten of Germany.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel. A liturgy of the Word will be given on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10am at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel followed by burial in the family plot at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue Keene, NH. 03431. Flowers will gladly be accepted. However, the family would prefer donations be made in memory of Dorothy A. Walsh to: Hospice, Homecare and Community Services, 312 Marlboro St. Keene, NH. 03431.
